We recommend extending the rod at least 3–4 inches beyond each side of your window, or further if you prefer a wider look. The size you order is the actual end-to-end length of the wooden rod; the brackets are not included in that measurement.

Yes. Select the next available size up, tick I need an exact length above the Add to cart button and enter the length you need. We recommend ordering the exact length rather than cutting the rod yourself: a cut leaves the new end of a finished rod unfinished.

Our rods and brackets are solid oak, and each standard rod is crafted from a single solid piece of wood.

• Unfinished is smoothly sanded with no stain or protective coating, so you can apply your own finish.
• Natural has a clear protective finish that highlights the oak's own grain and color.
• Brown and Dark Brown are stained finishes that protect the wood while letting its grain show.

Solid wood varies naturally in grain and tone, so each piece is unique and may differ slightly from our photos. Matching an earlier WoodNest order? Send us 4–5 photos of it taken in natural daylight and we'll try to match it, though an exact match can't be guaranteed.

No. Our rods have clean, flat wooden ends and don't include finials or end caps.

The rods are round and 1¼ inches in diameter. They work with curtain rings, grommets, rod pockets, back tabs and other styles that fit a 1¼-inch rod. For rings, choose an inner diameter of at least 1½ inches.

Extra Long and Ultra Long rods run through center brackets that rings and grommets can't slide past, so each curtain panel moves within its own section: two sections on an Extra Long rod, three on an Ultra Long.

Mounted directly into wood studs, our curtain rod sets support up to 80 lb, and the Ultra Long set up to 120 lb. The actual capacity depends on proper installation and the condition of your wall.

Our curtain rod sets come with mounting screws, drywall anchors, preinstalled locking screws and instructions, all packed together in one long, sturdy box.

• Standard set: one rod and two brackets.
• Extra Long set: two rod sections and three brackets. The sections join inside the center bracket, so the joint is hidden.
• Ultra Long set: three rod sections and four brackets.

The outer brackets slide along the rod to suit your window. When mounting into wood studs, use the screws without the drywall anchors. You'll need your own basic tools.

Production takes 4–5 business days. Shipping is then free within the continental U.S. by UPS, USPS or FedEx, with tracking. Estimated transit after production:

Standard rods can be returned or exchanged within 14 days of delivery if they are unused and in their original condition and packaging. Custom-length rods can't be returned for a change of mind.

Shipping for an exchange, or for a return because of preference or fit, is yours to cover; for a confirmed manufacturing defect or shipping damage, we cover the return shipping. Eligible refunds are processed within 3–5 business days after we receive and inspect the return.

Yes. We sell the rod on its own and brackets on their own, so you can also add an extra bracket.
